Age Calculator
Find your exact age in years, months and days — plus total days, weeks and the countdown to your next birthday.
About Age Calculator
Age Calculator gives your exact age in years, months and days from your date of birth — on today’s date or any other date you choose. It also shows the total months, weeks, days and hours, the weekday you were born on, and how long until your next birthday.
Forms ask for exact age more often than you might think: school and university admissions with an age cut-off on a specific date, job and government applications, sports competitions with age categories, insurance quotes and visa paperwork. Setting the “age on this date” field to the deadline answers whether you qualify on that day, not just today.
Working this out by hand is surprisingly error-prone because months have different lengths. The calculator counts whole calendar years and months first and then the remaining days, borrowing the actual length of the previous month when needed — the same method used on official documents — so leap years and 30- versus 31-day months come out right.
People born on 29 February are treated as having their birthday on 28 February in non-leap years, which is the most widely used convention. All calculation happens in your browser; your date of birth is not sent anywhere.

Tips & common problems
Check eligibility on the cut-off date
Admissions and competitions usually fix age on a particular date. Set the second field to that date instead of today to get the age that counts.
Total days are exact
The day count is the real number of calendar days between the two dates, including every leap day in between.
Use it for any two dates
It works for anything with a start date — how long you have worked somewhere, the age of a building, or the time since an event.
Frequently asked questions
How is exact age calculated?
Whole years are counted first, then whole months, then the remaining days, using the real length of each month. This is the standard method used on official forms.
How are leap-year birthdays handled?
If you were born on 29 February, your birthday is counted as 28 February in years that are not leap years.
Can I calculate age on a future date?
Yes. Set “Age on this date” to any date after your birth date — useful for checking eligibility for an upcoming deadline.
Does it account for time zones?
Ages are calculated on calendar dates, not clock time, so your time zone does not change the result.
Is my date of birth stored?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
