About Extract Pages
Extract Pages pulls the pages you choose out of a PDF and saves them as a brand-new document. You pick what to keep rather than what to throw away, which makes it the fastest route when you only need a handful of pages from a long file. It runs in your browser and is free.
This is the tool for the moment when someone asks for one page from something enormous. A landlord wants page 12 of your thirty-page tenancy agreement. A visa application needs the photo page of a passport scan, not the whole booklet. A lecturer set reading for chapter three of a four-hundred-page textbook. In each case the answer is a small, clean PDF that contains only the relevant pages.
Extracting rather than sending the full document is also good practice. Every extra page you share is more information than the request needed, and long files invite the recipient to browse parts of your business that were never meant for them. Because the extraction happens locally in your browser, even the pages you discard are never transmitted — the original never leaves your device at any point.
How to Extract Pages
- Choose the PDF you want to take pages from.
- Browse the thumbnails and select the pages you want to keep.
- Note that the pages you tick are the ones that survive — this is the opposite of Remove Pages.
- Confirm your selection covers everything the recipient asked for.
- Download the new PDF containing only those pages.
Tips & common problems
Extracted pages keep their original order
Selecting pages 9, 2 and 5 produces a document ordered 2, 5, 9. If you need a custom sequence, extract first and then reorder with Organize PDF.
Check for content that spans a page break
A table or clause that starts on page 11 and finishes on page 12 becomes confusing if you only extract page 12. Skim the page before and after your selection.
The file size may not drop much
If the pages you extracted carry the heavy images, the new file can be nearly as large as the original. Run it through Compress PDF if size matters.
Extract before redacting, not after
Working on a three-page extract is faster and safer than redacting a long document and hoping you did not miss an instance.
