What is QuickieTool?+
QuickieTool is a free online toolkit for working with PDF and image files. You can merge, split, compress, convert, edit, protect and sign PDFs, plus compress, resize, crop, convert and edit images — all in one place.
Is QuickieTool really free?+
Yes. All of our core PDF and image tools are free to use with no account, no watermark and no hidden limits. We keep the lights on with a small amount of non-intrusive advertising.
Do I need to create an account or sign up?+
No. You can use every core tool without signing up. An optional account only exists for saved preferences and future premium features.
Is there a limit on how many files I can process?+
There's no daily cap on the free tools. Browser-based tools are limited only by your device's memory, and server tools have a generous per-file size limit.
Which browsers and devices are supported?+
QuickieTool works in any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari — on desktop, tablet and mobile. No app install is required.
Do I need to install any software?+
No installation is needed. Everything runs in your web browser, so there's nothing to download or update.
Privacy & security
Are my files uploaded to your servers?+
Most of our tools (like merge, split, rotate, edit, and all image tools) run entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device. Each tool's page tells you whether it runs in your browser or on the server.
What happens to files processed on the server?+
A few heavy tools (like conversion, OCR and compression) process on our server. Those files are deleted immediately after processing and are never stored, shared or sold. We send an X-File-Storage: not-stored header to confirm it.
Do you keep or sell my documents?+
Never. We do not store, read, share or sell your files or their contents. Browser tools never send your file anywhere; server tools delete it right after the job finishes.
Is it safe to upload confidential or sensitive PDFs?+
For sensitive files, prefer the browser-based tools — your document is processed locally and never transmitted. For extra safety you can also password-protect or redact a PDF before sharing it.
Does the background remover upload my photos?+
No. The AI background-removal model runs locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded — only the model itself is downloaded (once) to your device.
PDF tools
How do I convert a PDF to Word for free?+
Open the PDF to Word tool, upload your PDF, and download an editable Word (DOCX) document. Text and layout are preserved, and your file is deleted after conversion.
How can I reduce the size of a PDF?+
Use the Compress PDF tool. Upload your file, choose a compression level, and download a smaller PDF that still looks sharp — ideal for email and uploads.
How do I merge multiple PDFs into one?+
Open Merge PDF, add your files, drag them into the order you want, and download a single combined PDF. It runs in your browser with no watermark.
Can I edit the text and add images to a PDF?+
Yes. The Edit PDF tool is a full editor where you can add text, images, shapes, highlights and freehand drawing to any page, then download the result.
How do I password-protect or unlock a PDF?+
Use Protect PDF to encrypt a file with a password, or Unlock PDF to remove a password you already know. Both keep your file private and delete it after processing.
Can I convert scanned PDFs into searchable text?+
Yes. The OCR PDF tool runs optical character recognition so a scanned document becomes searchable and selectable.
Will converting or editing reduce my file's quality?+
No. We preserve quality wherever possible — pages are copied exactly for organizing tools, and conversions keep fonts, images and layout intact.
Image tools
How do I remove the background from an image?+
Open Remove Background, upload your photo, and the in-browser AI cuts out the subject and gives you a transparent PNG — free, with nothing uploaded.
How can I compress an image without losing quality?+
Use Compress Image, pick a quality level, and download a smaller JPG, PNG or WebP. It runs in your browser so your photos stay private.
How do I resize or crop a photo?+
Use Resize Image to set exact dimensions (with optional locked aspect ratio) or Crop Image to cut the photo to any area — both work instantly in your browser.
Can I convert between JPG, PNG and WebP?+
Yes. Convert Image switches a photo between JPG, PNG and WebP. WebP usually gives the smallest file at similar quality.
Can I add text or watermarks to an image?+
Yes. Use Watermark Image to stamp text over a photo, the Meme Generator for captions, or the Photo Editor for full text, stickers, shapes and drawing.
Pricing & ads
Why do you show ads?+
Ads let us offer powerful tools for free without charging you or putting your files behind a paywall. We keep them limited and non-intrusive.
Are there any premium features?+
A small number of AI-powered tools (like Summarize and Translate) may be offered as premium in the future. The core PDF and image tools stay free.
Do I have to pay to remove a watermark?+
No — our tools don't add watermarks in the first place, so there's nothing to pay to remove.
