Tips & common problems
Unusual fonts may be substituted
Conversion uses a standard font library. A document built around a font you installed yourself may render with a close substitute, which can shift line breaks slightly. Sticking to common fonts avoids surprises.
Check the page breaks afterwards
This is the single most common thing to go wrong, and it takes ten seconds to verify. Scroll the PDF and confirm no heading has been stranded alone at the bottom of a page.
Convert before you password-protect
If the document needs a password, convert it to PDF first and then apply protection with Protect PDF. Encrypting the Word file first blocks the converter from reading it.
Track changes and comments may appear
If your document still carries editing marks, they can render into the PDF. Accept or reject all changes and delete comments in Word before converting.
